8 Things To Buy in the Sephora Sale
The 20% off is reserved for restocks and trying something new, as a treat.
If you felt the wind change, it’s not just Mercury In Retrograde or the crappy weather that’s been baring down on NYC this week. Tiktokers are gearing up for this moment; tweens are crying in the aisles to get their hands on skincare they won’t need for at least 10 years, and I examined my makeup collection to find create gaps in my makeup to bring in new items.
You guessed it, the Sephora sale is starting. On April 5th, Rouge members are blessed with 20% on everything and 30% on the Sephora Collection, making a good excuse to stock up on items. I haven’t bought makeup since before Christmas as a good-faith effort to use what I have, but now I’m bored and have a terrible case of the shoppies. My empties have been emptying, so it’s time for some newness. Here are the TK things I will pick up during the Sephora sale.
My Tried and True Empites
Listen, hair can get a little dirty sometimes. While I haven’t been fully sucked into the idea of a ‘Sunday reset’ because, mentally, I’m still in my hot girl walk era, I love my end-of-week shower as a reset. This is the perfect product to mix into my shampoo and let the water wash away the gunk and grime I’ve accumulated from city living.
The hunt for good mascara feels as pointless and exhausting as whatever Sisyphus is going through - constantly testing and trying to only collapse under the weight of clumpy and funky-smelling mascaras. MERIT says no more. This has been one of my favorite mascaras of the past years, adding length to my lashes and never clumping or migrating. Tragedy no more - pick up this clean beauty during the sale, and you won’t regret it.
Listen, SPF is a must if you don’t want commenters on TikTok saying, “Wow! You look older than 35!” While aging is a blessing, sun damage is not, so I never leave home without this oil-free tinted moisturizer with SPF that blends perfectly into my combination skin and never leaves me greasy. The travel size is perfect, and the only thing that saved me from sunburn when my luggage got lost in Spain. Don’t recommend that experience, but do recommend this tinted moisturizer.
Nothing saved my hair from rolling out of bed after pub nights and heading to class/work when I studied abroad ~~in London~~ quite like dry shampoo. While I have stepped up from the Boots version, I never forgot her service. I fell in love with the Living Proof dry shampoo for those days between washes. It smells great, leaves no whitecast on my roots, and helps me pretend I’m Jennifer Anniston in those ads.
Since I moved up from my Barbie hairdryer and am now the responsible owner of a Dyson, I need to up my hair game. This means heat protectant and hair oil to keep the shine while lowering the frizz. This OUAI one has been my north star, and while I have strayed and tried others, I always return to this bottle.
Try Try Try
Picture me, knee-deep in articles about how to achieve Taylor’s iconic red lip. While there’s much debate about the products she uses, one common thread was the Sephora Collection Liquid Lipstick. Not one to shy away from long-lasting red lips,
When I apply glitter, I need to know it will last the day into night transition and not smudge when I forget I’m wearing it and touch my eyes. Forever chasing the high of my Era’s Tour makeup, I am always looking to be as glittered as my disco ball earrings. I won’t shy away from the pigment; Danessa Myricks has never let me down. It’s time to shine.
If you haven’t picked up on the trend yet, the items I want to try aren’t going to move, especially when crying over the loss of Telephone 2 on Beyoncé’s new album. The spring and summer will be filled with pigment and blinding glitter, which is the first step towards that reality.

What I’m Reading: someone remove the word ‘growl’ from SJM’s vocabulary: I’m reading the third installation of ACOTAR at the behest of my friends, who claim the 5th book is the best. I do it for them.
What I’m Hearing: there’s a lot of talking going on: albums are back, in a big way! first Deeper Well, then eternal sunshine and now Cowboy Carter. once AMEN stops, I just run it right back to AMERICAN REQUIEM.
What I’m Wearing: must be the season of the trench: imagine my surprise when I showed up to work in a caramel trench to see that all of my coworkers were rocking their versions of a caramel trench. there’s nothing quite like the classics, but if you want to go alternative, j’adore my 4th & Reckless Maroon Trench.
